Topic: Documenting War Crimes with Volunteers – Bellingcat's Open Source Approach

Come and hear Giancarlo Fiorella, Director of Research & Training at Bellingcat, talk about how Bellingcat mobilizes a volunteer community to help document war crimes and other atrocities in conflict zones across the world.

Speaker: Giancarlo Fiorella

Giancarlo is the Director of Research & Training at Bellingcat, a non-profit organization that works with open source data to investigate war crimes and other types of wrongdoing. He is also an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University's Global Justice Investigations Lab, and holds a PhD from the University of Toronto's Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies.

April theme: electoral interference and online disinformation

With a federal election coming up on April 28th, we've dedicated four weeks to featuring Toronto-based presenters who research and build tools to fight election interference and online disinformation. Check the complete list of upcoming events.
