AmsterdamJS is the largest and longest-running JavaScript meetup in town!
JavaScript has a bright shining future and the Amsterdam tech scene is thriving. Although there are vibrant user meetups and conferences on related topics, the city needs a strong and all-embracing JavaScript community and AmsterdamJS is it, since 2010.
Our goal is to cover everything JavaScript, from the browser to the server, from the framework to the crazy hack and from the hardware appliance to the data visualization. We also run an annual conference - JSNation

TC39 is working on two proposals, import defer and export defer, whose goal is to allow developers to extract better performance from native ESM, both in the browser and on the server. Let's go together through how they work, and when and where you'll be able to use them!
Hi. We will present an experimental IDE for navigating the ECMAScript specification document. The IDE provides a custom pseudocode notation that matches the look-and-feel of the ECMA-262 spec, and supports the usual features (outline view, go to definition, find usages, diff). We'll also demo functionality for advanced navigation and comprehension of pseudocode, such as pattern-based code search within the spec's algorithms, and local refactoring/modifying/annotating the spec for learning purposes.
The JavaScript ecosystem is longing for a standardized tooling. No more plumbing work, no more choice fatigue and no more analysis paralysis. But how would such a tool look like? Together, we have a look at the newly released Vite+ Alpha and see if the new open source CLI can hold up to its promises, covering developer's tooling needs and let them focus on shipping, especially in an agentic age.
