12:30PM to 3:30PM EDT
We missed you this time around!
Our next Svelte Society London Meetup is happening on Thursday, June 30th at the Fugitive Motel.
In-person and online!
We have several talks lined up for this event:
Sentient provides an individual/group/business with a uniquely customised mobile app and website. Features include a CMS and blog type functionality, image and video uploading and playback, plus more. Our first app before Covid used Nextjs, from there we upgraded :) (really Nextjs was great!) to Svelte and then SvelteKit.
Sentient is it's own product, but the result of us experimenting with new opportunities while developing ip.new and rich.ip.new
It's being developed with the potential to provide a lot of mobile apps/websites.
Matt Broad - Founder at Inspirational People.
Targeted at beginner to intermediate Svelte devs, this talk aims to cover common “mistakes” that we've found when learning Svelte and suggest a Svelte-ier way of doing things. We're defining code smells as the times when you write some code and it works but it feels “off” somehow. (Some examples: directly manipulating the DOM, over or under-using reactive statements, subscribing to stores unnecessarily, etc.)
Julian Burgess & Brittany Harris - Bloomberg Graphics.
AutoAnimate is a zero-config, drop-in animation utility that adds smooth transitions to your app. It works great with Svelte, but then again, it works great with any framework. In this talk we’ll use AutoAnimate to examine how new tools that target the "web platform" are breaking down old framework silos, and how Svelte is positioned to benefit.
Justin Schroeder - Senior engineer, creator of FormKit and AutoAnimate.
See you all there 😊
