Καλησπέρα, Αθήνα 🇬🇷
Join us for an evening of networking with the Gitpod and Elastic community, developer experience (DevX) enthusiasts with pizza and drinks. This event is sponsored by Gitpod and Elastic.
This is an opportunity to connect with others in the community and learn and share the best Gitpod and Elastic practices and knowledge.
➖
What is Gitpod?
Gitpod is an open-source developer platform automating the provisioning of ready-to-code developer environments.
Developers are automating the world. At the same time, the workflow of writing software itself never left local computers. The hours of yak-shaving, friction and security issues this causes every week wastes calories and drags creators of software away from flow.
Gitpod exists to change that: from history-dependent cobbled local development environments to consistently reproducible, instant, ephemeral Cloud Development Environments (CDEs).

Have you ever noticed how much time you spend troubleshooting your local development environment before you can actually begin writing code? Software engineers spend a large amount of their time per week managing their local development environment or waiting for builds and tests to complete. Since we've moved most creative workflows to the cloud, including processes like automated continuous integration and continuous deployment, how can we address the 'works on my machine' issue?
In this talk we will explore the topic of cloud development environments (CDEs) and how to remove friction from the developer experience through increasing velocity, collaboration, and control.
➖
George Tsiolis is a product designer at Gitpod, working on development environments and developer experience. He has been actively contributing to design and development efforts for open source design systems. He's passionate about design and engineering as well as remote culture and asynchronous collaboration.

Elastic gives the flexibility to use a variety of data ingestion methods. Extending Elastic’s ingestion methods by using integrations, is a key feature of Elastic Stack to provide additional functionality.
But what tools are provided to the integration developers in order to be more productive regarding the creation of such integrations? And how do we approach the key factors of automation and devops concepts as part of the development?
In this session we will cover the following:
What is an Elastic Integration
Elastic-package tool: How to build a new integration
How Elastic Agent leverages the integrations to enable new data inputs
Make your builds alive: GitOps example functionality
From integrations’ development to advanced template building to match dynamic environments (Kubernetes) needs
Speakers
Andreas Gkizas: Principal Software Engineer @ Elastic
Christos Markou: Senior Software Engineer @ Elastic
