Talk 1Â - What are Data Contracts and why they are the cornerstone of successful data products.
In this talk you will learn how to systematically structure and design interfaces for your data products, where you will borrow from software engineering best practices and where you will encounter specific data engineering nuances. We will also cover some of our lessons learned from the trenches. How to validate, monitor and evolve Data Contracts in production.

Having established the high-level framework around data contracts we will then turn our attention to practical hands-on implementation tips and techniques around validation and monitoring using open source tools and modern data engineering approaches.

Carmen Mardiros has worked around analytics and data for 14 years. Her experience covers area's such as Data architecture design and implementation and has worked in roles that cover Data Strategist, Lead Data Engineer, Data Warehouse Architect, Tracking Developer, Product/Project Manager, Technical BA, Insight Analyst, Data Modeller.

Akshay Karle is a Software Engineer that specialises in data, cloud infrastructure and security.
