Derrick is a Gender Expert and an advocate for Gender Equality, Open source and Digital Empowerment.
He specialises in gender expertise and is passionate about advancing gender equity and fostering sustainable community development. His work at the Rwanda Men’s Resource Center (RWAMREC) involves implementing programs that empower communities, promote gender-sensitive practices, and create lasting impact through facilitating Gender Transformative approach training.

He is also the Founder and Executive Director of Wikimedia Rwanda, where He leads efforts to promote free knowledge, digital literacy, and cultural preservation. Through innovative programs like Wiki Clubs in secondary schools, He empowers young Rwandans to actively contribute to platforms like Kinyarwanda Wikipedia, enhancing access to information and amplifying Rwanda’s presence in the global knowledge space.

His work focuses on fostering collaboration, building sustainable knowledge-sharing communities, and bridging digital gaps. He is passionate about creating opportunities for education and engagement that inspire a new generation of informed, creative, and tech-savvy citizens
